The OGC also represents the Chief Financial Officer and the Department in administrative proceedings, Florida circuit and appellate courts, and federal courts. Computer assisted legal research is the core computer application for the OGC to perform legal research and provide legal analysis to the Chief Financial Officer and Department staff. This online legal database dramatically reduces legal research time and expenses by providing the attorneys with immediate access to necessary case law, statutes, legal analyses, and other legal materials, including continuing legal education programs. The online computerized legal research goods and services are essential tools for the OGC's attorneys to provide up-to-date and accurate legal advice to the Chief Financial Officer and the Department staff in carrying out their constitutional and statutory responsibilities. This service will provide passwords for 87 attorneys (OGC - 52 users; OIR Legal - 24 users; Division of Rehabilitation and Liquidation - 10 users; and Office of the Insurance Consumer Advocate - 1 user.)
