Line Item Description: In response to the information provided, your request for professional archaeological services at the Observation Deck near Thursby House, Volusia County, Archaeological Consultants, Inc. (ACI) is pleased to provide the following information: ACI is familiar with the archaeological site adjacent to (perhaps within) the project area. The current project is in an area with high archaeological potential. Based on the request from the State of Florida, ACI proposes: 1. Virtual meeting with client and the construction company to discuss the planned work and effort needed to ensure monitoring methods, needs, and schedule are reviewed ($350 per meeting including travel- anticipate 1 meeting). This meeting will determine if one or two archaeologists are needed for monitoring. 2. Submission of the required 1A-32 Permit $1,000 3. Monitor initial ground disturbing activities as needed by a professional archaeologist who meets the Secretary of Interiors Standards at a rate of $1,100 a day or any part of a day (this includes an 810-hour day plus travel) (Anticipate 5 days). a. If two archaeologist are needed due to scale of work the rate will be $1,600 a day or any part of a day will be added. 4. If any significant archaeological deposits are encountered, the daily fee includes the initial review and consultation. If additional archaeological work is necessary that requires a second crew to assist due to schedule and/or client request, an additional fee of $1,500 a day or any part of a day will be added (this includes an 810-hour day plus travel). 5. Write a Technical Memorandum detailing the results of the monitoring in compliance with the State request including an updated FMSF form ($2,000). a. If any significant archaeological deposits are encountered resulting in additional analysis and write up, an additional fee of $850 per isolated deposit will be added. Field survey/archaeological monitoring cannot begin until the fully executed 1A-32 permit is received. Cost Estimate
